About the Event
Learn how to start and grow your own cut flower garden at home — even if you don’t have a greenhouse.
In this 90-minute beginner workshop, we’ll show you exactly how to start cut flower seedlings indoors using just a shop light and shelf setup.
You’ll get hands-on instruction with soil blocking and plant your own tray of 20 zinnia seeds during the workshop to take home and grow into your first bouquet garden.
By the end of the class, you’ll understand how to successfully start, grow, and harvest cut flowers in your own backyard — even in your very first season.
In this workshop we will cover:
• Where to buy the best cut flower seeds and our favorite beginner varieties
• Our fool-proof method for starting seeds indoors without a greenhouse
• The simple timeline for seed starting, transplanting, and different spring and summer blooms
• How to grow armfuls of flowers your first season
• Harvesting tips so your flowers last longer in the vase
• End-of-season tips including soil health and preparing for next year
Plus all the small tips and tricks we’ve learned from growing thousands of flowers here at Beck Farms.
