About the Event
What if the 5 dahlias you planted this year could become 35–50 next year? FOR FREE?
That’s the magic of dahlias. A single tuber planted in spring can multiply into 7–10 tubers by fall. Learn how to divide and store them, and you can multiply your dahlia collection year after year without buying another plant.
The tricky part? Getting them through a Utah winter.
Leave your tubers in the ground, and you risk losing them to freezing temperatures and rot. Dig them up, and suddenly you're faced with a hundred conflicting opinions on the internet about how to store them.
Here's the secret: CLIMATE MATTERS. What works in Oregon might not work in Utah.
At Beck Farms, we grow over 4,000 dahlia plants and successfully store tens of thousands of tubers every year. We're teaching you our EXACT methods, perfected for our unique Utah climate with little to no storage loss each winter.
What you'll learn:
WHEN to dig: Timing, frost, and preparing your plants for winter.
HOW to divide: Identify eyes, make proper cuts, and turn one clump into multiple future plants, including best sanitation protocols.
HOW to store: Our proven storage methods for Utah's dry climate, plus how to prevent rot and shriveling.
WHAT to avoid: The common mistakes that cost growers their tubers.
And yes, you'll get your hands dirty!
This isn't just a demonstration. You'll practice dividing Beck Farms dahlia clumps with hands-on guidance from our team.
You'll go home with:
Your own Beck Farms dahlia tubers that YOU divided during class with our help, ready for winter storage.
A printed reference booklet with our methods and instructions to use year after year.
The confidence to multiply and preserve your own dahlia collections now and in the future.
Whether you grew your first dahlia this year or you've struggled with winter storage for years, this workshop is for you.
Learn the skill once. Grow your collection for years to come.
***This workshop is held in our 100 year old barn. While we do have heaters, the ambient temp hovers at around 50 degrees. Please wear warm layers!
