About the Event
Learn how to start seedlings of flowers that love and prefer a cold start - at home - without a greenhouse, with just a shop light!
In this 90 minute workshop you will get detailed instruction and hands-on practice with soil blocking and you will get to start your own stock seeds with our help, and take them home to grow and bloom! You will receive all the instruction you need to successfully take care of them at home and grow them on.
Cold hardy cut flower varieties that we will cover in class:
snapdragons
sweet peas
larkspur
stock
lisianthus
poppies
bupleurum
and more!
(Ranunculus covered in its own separate workshop!)
This class is for anyone, but those who have successfully grown warm summer annuals before might have more success and enjoy this workshop the most!
You will receive your own sown tray of stock seeds that we will help you with in the workshop, but we recommend you also have a grow light at home with a minimum of 4000 lumens for best success. Our favorite, very inexpensive are available for purchase at the workshop to take home with you.
